South Frontenac Official Plan Consultation
The Township of South Frontenac is in the process of updating it's Official Plan which will shape the nature of our peninsula for the next couple of decades. Official Plan Review - South Frontenac 2040 | EngageFrontenac.ca One example is that Devil Lake is one of 9 lakes in the Township to be designated an "at capacity" Lake Trout Lake. This means that development on Devil Lake will likely be restricted to that which "does not negatively impact water quality in order to maintain a healthy lake trout population".
The WDLPOG Board submitted feedback to the phase one consultation process in autumn 2021 and is pleased to see that many of our comments and suggestions on how to preserve and enhance the excellent environmental quality of our community have been reflected in the draft Official Plan that is presently with Council for consideration. Once Council has approved the draft for public consultation it will be posted on this website with information about how you can participate in the consultations. We will also be inviting member input to the WDLPOG submission. Thank you to those members who signaled their interest at the AGM on July 2 - please stay tuned!
